Lubbock economic index posts its first decline

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - After three months in positive numbers, the Lubbock economic index posts its first decline. Lubbock national bank released its monthly findings this morning that show a very narrow slip from May to June.

There are several contributing factors including retail spending, a sharp decline in new home construction permits, fewer home sales, and a 6.7 percent unemployment rate.
