LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - It may be hard for some kids to adjust from a longer day and fun summer nights, to an earlier bedtime routine when school starts.

Dr. Joy Tenpenny, a pediatrician at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, recommends that kids need a week or so of getting to bed early again before that first day back at school because sleep has proven to be good medicine for better grades.
