LUBBOCK, TX –With season tickets being purchased at a record pace, the Texas Tech athletics department will open up another avenue for fans to be part of the action this season at Jones AT&T Stadium, as individual tickets sales (excluding the Texas game) will go on sale to the general public on Monday, Aug. 9.
"First and foremost I would like to thank our great fans for embracing our football program," said athletics director Gerald Myers. "Despite the fact we have record numbers in season tickets, there are still plenty of great seats available and we would encourage everyone to make those purchases now. I would also encourage our fans to make plans to go to Dallas in October as we play Baylor in the historic Cotton Bowl."
Beginning on Monday, individual game tickets will go on sale online and through all area Select-A-Seat outlets, including United Supermarkets. On Wednesday, Aug. 11, fans will be able to purchase individual tickets in person at the athletics ticket office, located in the north end of Jones AT&T Stadium. The individual ticket sales that begin on Monday will only include the SMU, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Weber State and Houston games.
Alongside the individual ticket sales that begin on Monday, a Texas/Weber State mini-pack will also go on sale to the general public and will be priced at $138.
Should individual game tickets be available for the Texas game, they will go on sale approximately two weeks prior to the game and will be priced at $98 per seat.
Season ticket sales for the 2010 season are over 45,000 (new school record) and counting as we are just under one month away from the season opener against SMU on Sept. 5. On Friday, Texas Tech sold the last of the $149 season tickets but great seats still remain and can be purchased immediately on texastech.com or by contacting the athletics ticket office at (806) 742-TECH or 888-GO-BIG12.
