Lubbock prisoner accused of threatening the President

Posted: Updated:

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - An inmate at Lubbock's Montford Prison Unit is accused of threatening the President.

This week, a federal judge ordered that Christopher Lynn Oliphant be moved from state prison to federal custody. He will be tested for mental competency by either a psychologist or psychiatrist.

Court records say Oliphant wrote a letter in which he said he would strap a bomb to himself and kill the President.

Again, from court records, he also wrote that if he couldn't do it, then one of his Muslim brothers would do it.
