Two local lawsuits settled or dropped, but no details in court records

By James Clark | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Here's a quick follow up on two local lawsuits that we've covered in the past.  Catherine Gharati sued Covenant Health System back in May of last year, claiming she was fired in violation of FMLA or the Family Medical Leave Act.  Last week Gharati dropped her lawsuit saying, "The parties have resolved all matters in controversy."  Specifics were not available in court records.

Alex Imhoff and other employees of the Double Nickel Steakhouse sued in November 2009 claiming they weren't paid at least minimum wage.  The owner of the steakhouse always denied any wrongdoing.   Imhoff and the others voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit last week with each side paying its own legal costs.
