LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Renovations at the City Bank Auditorium have forced Celebrity Attractions to change some of their performances.
Once Fiddler on the Roof goes on at the end of October, shows will be moved to the Civic Center. Organizers say the venue is more intimate, going from 2,400 seats to just 1,400.
They promise they'll be able to fit everyone in, but due to the smaller size, Celebrity Attractions had to cancel The Beauty and the Beast performances.
"The only thing that's unfortunate is not being able to do Beauty and the Beast, but the other shows we're going to have are going to be absolutely fantastic," says Matthew Birdwell with Celebrity Attractions.
Beauty and the Beast will be replaced with a show called Ballroom with a Twist, which will feature several celebrity dancers. Renovations at the auditorium are scheduled to be complete in early 2012.
