A Tahoka couple, who are both elected officials, were stopped by the Lynn County DPS Thursday night. The woman was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, and her husband, was cited for public intoxication. Ironically they are both the owners of a bail bond business in Tahoka.
Since it was Clara Calvillo's first offense, the Lynn County DPS says she was released on $750,000 bond. It is uncertain whether Clara, who is a member of the Tahoka City Council, used her own business to bail herself out. Her husband Joe Calvillo Junior, who is the Vice-President of the Tahoka Independent School Board, was not arrested.
