LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Lubbock City Council proclaimed September 11th "First Responder's Day" during the meeting on Thursday.
Mayor Tom Martin says the tragedy showed us we were in a war on terror, but it also did more. "It also had a renewed appreciation by our country of the men and women who are in occupation that are referred to as first responders," says Martin.
The Mayor recognized fire, police, and EMS workers at the council meeting. He also set September 9th through the 14th as the days flags will fly in Castman Park to honor the victims of the 9-11 terrorist attacks.
