Victims of PCA Salmonella outbreak closer to settlement

PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) -

PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) - People sickened by a Salmonella outbreak last year are a step closer to a settlement.  The outbreak was linked to two plants owned by Peanut Corporation of America, including their facility in Plainview.

A federal judge now recommends a $12-million settlement for more than 120 victims. Nine people died and about 700 were sickened. Final approval is in the hands of a bankruptcy judge.
