LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Two huge wrecks brought the South Loop to a screeching halt Friday evening. The first was at about 7:13 PM on the Loop at the Indiana overpass. Police say as many as six cars were involved and east bound traffic was completely blocked on the main lanes for a while. Traffic was not completely back to normal until 8:30. While there were injuries police believe none are life threatening.
Approximately 10 minutes after the first crash, an 18-wheeler and two cars were involved in a crash on the South Loop at Slide Road. Police say two more vehicles were also involved for a total of five vehicles in the pileup. Just like the first wreck, east bound traffic was tied up until about 8:30 PM, and also just like the first crash, there were injuries but none are considered life threatening.
