Public meeting scheduled on closing of dangerous road near LCHS

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - County Commissioners on Monday scheduled a public meeting about the consideration of closing a one-mile stretch of road.

The Lubbock Cooper School District approached the County Commissioners about the narrow dirt road that they say is very dangerous. County Road 2300 between County Road 7500 and Woodrow road is essentially Avenue P, just south of Lubbock city limits.

The public meeting is scheduled for September 20th at 6:30 p.m. in the Lubbock Cooper High School Performing Arts Center.

County Commissioner Bill McCay says no decision will be made until after the public hearing.
