LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – It can get uncomfortable watching an adult commercial with a little kid sitting next to you. That's why the American Academy of Pediatrics is asking broadcasters to delay commercials for erectile dysfunction drugs and other adult issues until after 10 o'clock.
The academy is also asking the nation's pediatricians to include in their practice a talk with teens about all the sexual images they see in the media. The academy says on average teens spend 7 hours a day with the t-v, internet or video games. They believe the exposure to sexual images in those may be to blame for the U.S., and having the highest teen birth rate in the Western Hemisphere.
