Roadwork on I-27 bridge to begin Wednesday morning

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock drivers can expect to see more orange cones starting Wednesday morning.

The Texas Department of Transportation will close the main lanes of I-27 over the Regis Street bridge beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday. All I-27 traffic will be detoured to the frontage roads. The closure will allow crews to do a concrete overlay on the Regis Street overpass.

Motorists traveling through the area can expect the bridge to remain closed for approximately three days.

Motorists traveling through the area should expect delays. Work will take place weather permitting.
