Hot temperatures before the cold front hits

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - This afternoon mostly sunny and hot. Little chance of rain with only isolated thunderstorms west and east of Lubbock. High in the mid 90s.

Tonight partly cloudy, again with little chance of rain due to the isolated nature of any storms that may develop. Low in the upper 60s.

Thursday partly cloudy and hot. High in the mid 90s. By late Thursday, and through Thursday night, a chance of rain with scattered thunderstorms and showers. Windy, with south winds of 10-20 mph in the afternoon becoming northeast 15-25 and to around 35 mph Thursday evening and night. The overnight low will dip to around 60 degrees.

Friday mostly cloudy and windy early, then mostly sunny, much cooler with a high in the upper 70s.

Saturday and Sunday mostly fair. Labor Day partly cloudy, very warm.
