LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – An autopsy sheds some light on a mysterious death, but questions remain.
Friday morning, the Lubbock County Medical Examiner's Office released a cause of death in the case of 31-year-old Eric Savelle. His body was found last week in a residence in South Lubbock. The M.E. says Savelle died from a gunshot wound to the neck, with the gun being in contact with Savelle as it was fired.
The "manner of death" is still to be determined by an LPD investigation. In other words, the M.E. is not saying if Savelle's death was homicide, suicide, or accidental. Savelle was a former Lubbock police officer.
