LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - On what would be Buddy Holly's 74th birthday, the Buddy Holly Center is inviting the public to an all day celebration. Visitors are invited to tour the center free of charge today from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Screenings of the real Buddy Holly Story will be at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. A guided tour will begin at 3 p.m. and Buddy's birthday bash reception will begin at 4:30 p.m.
Starting at 5:30 p.m., there will be a Prophets of Rockabilly concert in the Meadows Courtyard.

Also tonight is the last performance of the jukebox musical "Buddy! The Buddy Holly Story" — conceived by Laurie Mansfield and co-written by Alan Janes and Rob Bettinson. The musical begins at 8 p.m. tonight at Mackenzie Park's Wells Fargo Amphitheater.
Premium seats are $28; general admission tickets are $20 for the general public, $13 for students and $8 for children (includes service charges).
