LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Red Raiders go on the road Saturday to visit the New Mexico Lobos in a 7 p.m. central time kickoff. Tech last lost to the Lobos in Albuquerque in 2004. Tech is favored by 26 points.
"We didn't worry about SMU. We didn't worry about who. We worried about our self," said Texas Tech head football coach Tommy Tuberville. "I thought they handled that pretty good. I know New Mexico got off to a slow start but again they're playing home opener we'll get a much different team. I'm not going to have to sell that to our players because they know that it's young in the season. We are going to play different. We are going to change some starters in some positions. We are going to change some starters in the special teams. We will be a different team this week. We want to execute better, really not worry about who we play."
The Red Raiders snagged their 8th straight season opening win. A 35-27 victory over SMU at home on Sunday, and no question this team will build off of that.
Meanwhile, New Mexico has only one way to go and that's up as they were lambasted 72-0 in their first game against Oregon. Tech isn't worried about their opponent, but themselves.
