LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Thursday afternoon at Kastman Park a sea of red, white and blue flags are now flowing. Young volunteers from Murfee Elementary joined American State Bank employees in placing one thousand flags at the park.
"It's a memory for me, because it's the third year I've done this, and it just helps me to know that I've actually contributed something" said MaryGrace Cude, a Murfee Elementary student. "It just means a lot to me to put up the flags."
The 9th annual display is called "An American Tribute" and it serves as a memorial for the victims of September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks.
The flags will be at the park until Tuesday, September 14th at 6 p.m.
