Storm Severely Damages Yard

Saturday night's stormed proved a little rough for a South Plains family -- that's because high winds ripped through their yard. The storm uprooted a 40 year-old apricot tree, laying it on it's side.

It knocked limbs and branches off the rest of the trees in their yard. The winds also tore down their back fence. The rain and hail pounded right through their patio table, shattering it as well as the screens on all the windows.

"About 1:00, the wind woke us up and the hail. We had some broken glass and we could hear the trees snapping," says Jamie Pettit.

She alos said that it sounded like a tornado was ripping through their yard, and while their damage wasn't as bad as it could have been, it was the worst they've had.
