Monterey faces undefeated Frenship

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Friday night in Wolfforth, winless Monterey faces undefeated Frenship in a big battle. The Tigers have already roared past Coronado and edged Big Spring last week. Monterey had a tussle with Odessa and they expect nothing less from Frenship.

"Playing Frenship, they're as quality a team as anybody we've got in our district or anyone in old district as a matter of fact," said Monterey Head Coach Todd Pearson. "They're just a quality opponent. They've got good coaching. They've got good kids. They do things right and we're looking forward to a good football game and learning what we need to do in the future and getting after it. They're going to do some things that are different from the past. They're a big power football team. The last two opponents were big power running teams. They're going to have a big offensive line and big backs and they're going to ground the ball out and we're going to have to be up for task and kind of keep that in check so they have to do something else."
