New Mexico Coach talks about Taylor Potts

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Red Raiders take their show on the road Saturday as they visit New Mexico 7 p.m. central time Saturday night.

Last year in Lubbock, Taylor Potts struggled against New Mexico with two picks and the Lobos hung around. Potts was under heavy pressure and was forced to scramble. He left the game after being roughed up. Tech won 48-28.

Last week, Taylor Potts threw four touchdown passes against SMU in a 35-27 victory and his present performance impressed the Lobos head coach.

"Potts is one of the better Quarterbacks in the country," said New Mexico Coach Mike Locksley. "Potts has a great quick release. I like what they're doing with him.  Obviously it's different from what they did in previous years. They cater what they do on offense to his skill set. It comes down to Tech defense what will dictate what we can do on offense. That's the flexibility of our offense. None of that matters if we throw the ball to them or put it on the ground."
