LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The 15th annual Apple Butter Festival celebration begins on Saturday, September 11th and offers a fun filled weekend for the whole family.
Apple Country Orchards and Metropolitan Lubbock Rotary Club are hosting the event that begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. on both days. Listen to live bluegrass, country, and gospel music from performers such as Paul Davidson, Joe Gillis, Kim Townsend and more.
Children will enjoy the petting zoo and miniature horses, children's crafts and activities, and face painting. Children and adults can relax and enjoy hay rides through the apple trees, a visit with Johnny Appleseed, a Space Slide for the kids, craft booths in the orchard and lots of apple picking.
A benefit BBQ lunch with beverage will be offered all day for $5. Fresh apple turnovers and Bluebell ice cream are $2.
All these events and more will take place at Apple Country Orchards, located 4 miles east of Idalou on Highway 62 & 82, just 15 minutes from Lubbock. Admission is only $3 per person and children under 6 can enter free.
All proceeds from Festival activities benefit the South Plains Food Bank Rotary Apple Orchard, Meals on Wheels, and other charities.
