Fans back home talk about Red Raiders on the road

By Christie Post | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Fox and Hound sports bar in Lubbock was standing room only Saturday night for Texas Tech at New Mexico.  Only those with DirecTV or Suddenlink's special sports tier could see the football game in Lubbock, which made Fox And Hound an especially attractive venue for Tech fans who could not travel to Albuquerque New Mexico.

"It's a good atmosphere," says Red Raider fan B.J. Hughey.

"New Mexico is always a good game.  They play us well.  So we're excited to come out and watch.  It should be a good time."

"We're a bit rowdy & excited, and rooting for Tech all the way," says fan Casey Kleseo.

Rick Kopytkiewicz, says "Actually we got here about 12:30."  What did he do for 6 and-a-half hours before the game?  Kopytkiewicz answers, "Just watchin' football, as you do on a Saturday."

Fan Jody Slaughter seemed to be poking fun at New Mexico.

"It's nice for them [Red Raiders] to get out and go on the road, and feel what it's like to play in an empty stadium for a change."
