LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Gaines County officials identify a weekend stabbing victim as Eduardo Calderon, 18, who is recovering at University Medical Center.  The Sheriff's Department says a fight between neighbors broke out just before noon in the 1300 block of CR 223-L.

The official statement says "both of the fathers were hitting each other with golf clubs and sticks."  Meanwhile their sons were also fighting and the statement says a 16-year-old stabbed Calderon, who then airlifted to UMC in Lubbock.  Calderon was initially taken to the Yoakum County Hospital in Denver City before he was taken by Aerocare.

"Gaines County juvenile officials detained the 16 year old," the statement continues.  "And he was transported to the Garza County juvenile facility where he is being held."

KCBD NewsChannel 11 is working to get Calderon's current condition.  The case is expected to go before a grand jury.
