Police Chase Ends in Double Arrest

A stolen truck led police on a brief chase that ended up with two arrests at the corner of Cornell St. and north Canton Ave. "It's a big relief 'cause I don't want to buy another one," said John Patillo, owner of stolen truck.

It's 1:45, and John Patillo has been reunited with his truck. Nevermind that its half in the street and half on the sidewalk, a half an hour ago he didn't have it at all. Mr. Patillo dropped off his truck at a body shop and then the alleged thieves made their move. "I stopped at the body shop to have some work done on my door. I was in the place for five minutes and they took off," said Patillo.

Ten minutes later the police engaged in a short pursuit and arrest two men. One of whom puts up a fight. He was later charged, with, among other things, resisting transport.

Now John Patillo will be heading back to the body shop, dented door, and then some, but grateful to have a truck at all. "I appreciate them getting it back, especially in one piece, cause new trucks are high," said Patillo.
