Lubbock resident, Darla Gilbert, was 44-years-old when she suffered a heart attack and died three years ago at Covenant. Her husband, Bob Gilbert, said the goal of the lawsuit was to ensure change. "Its justice in a way and yet its not justice. Because the only way that you can make the system better and make people take notice is by doing something like that. Because if a person never sues in a case like this then things don't change. And if I've saved one person's life, then it's all worth it," Bob Gilbert.
Covenant released a statement saying, "Nothing could have been done for her in the emergency room that would have changed the outcome."
