LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Fight fans may already know about Nate "Rock" Quarry's struggle with chronic back pain. You can hear his story, and tomorrow, you can hear from the doctor who gave "Rock" a new treatment option.
Dr. Nevan Baldwin, a Neurosurgeon, says this procedure cuts in half the typical recovery time because you don't have to cut through a lot of muscle and tissue going in from the back or the stomach. Dr. Baldwin explains how the surgery works, which is they "approach directly through the side of the body wall where the tissue is thinner, and going behind the contents of the abdomen…directly to the spine to perform the infusion, and this speeds the patient's recovery a great deal in most instances."
If you would like to learn more about this new option in treating leg and back pain, Covenant is sponsoring a free patient seminar tomorrow at the Hawthorne Suites located on 4435 Marsha Sharp Freeway. The seminar begins at 11:45 until 1:15 in the afternoon. Lunch will also be provided.
