LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - An independent candidate for Lubbock County Judge says county commissioners are being wasteful.
"We elect these people to be leaders for the county and to be fiscally conservative and control the costs and spend our money wisely, and they're not doing that," John Miller said.
Miller says the newly approved budget, that included raises for elected officials, relies on increased service fees and money the county hopes to make. He also say the increase in revenue generated by new property and appraisal creep should have been used to provide a tax cut.
Miller is challenging current judge Tom head, who opposed the budget, in the November election. (Click Here) to read over the budget for yourself.
