Volleyball action on the South Plains

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - In high school volleyball Lubbock high beat Levelland 3 games to 1.

For college volleyball action, NewsChannel 11's Sports Department headed up I-27 for the Sooner Athletic Conference opener for LCU and Wayland Baptist. A 13th Ranked Lady Chaps came in 11-1 and Wayland with only three blemishes.

In the first game, LCU up three and Annika Voight sets it for Desiree Lue-Vano who spikes it. Lady Chap Bailey Jones has the dig and Jordan Goings tips it home for the Lady Chap point. They'd win game one 25-21.

The Pioneer crowd was rowdy.

In the second game Wayland has a good dig, Voight with the set and Lue-Vano tries to spike it home but it doesn't' work, but on the second try does. Pioneers celebrate the point.

Later, the back and forth action continues as Kimberly Harger tries to slam it home. Bailey Jones says "I'm not having it" and getting the point.

LCU wins three games to one 25-21, 25-22, 26-28 and 25-22 to move to 12-1 overall and 1-0 in the SAC.
