More rain means more mosquitos and the city is on alert for the West Nile Virus.
Dallas County Health Investigators are looking into the first possible human case of West Nile Virus this year. Initial tests show a man from Richardson has already tested positive for West Nile Virus.
Here in Lubbock, health officials have ordered new equipment to fight West Nile using grant money from the Centers for Disease Control.
The new equipment will use satellite technology to track the mosquito population and record positive cases of West Nile. Last year, there were reports of at least 12 area horses contracting the virus.
So far this year, West Nile has not been reported in the Lubbock Area.
