Obama makes declaration for Lubbock Co. residents to receive funding from FEMA

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A declaration by President Obama now makes funding available for Lubbock County residents with flood damage caused by the remnants of Hurricane Alex.

The deadline to register for assistance is October 4th, 2010. FEMA will open a mobile disaster recovery center in Slaton on Tuesday, September 21st. People are encouraged to register before visiting the center.

You can register by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). You can register online by going to www.disasterassistance.gov (click on "Apply for Assistance Immediately").

Property owners who previously registered for assistance with FEMA for this event do not need to register again.
