Gator Captured in Corpus Christi

The alligator was spotted sunning itself Tuesday night in Corpus Christi.

Authorities tried to capture the 10-foot long gator, but the creature had other ideas, eluding captors on their first attempt. After about an hour of cat and mouse tactics, Texas Parks and Wildlife personnel officers managed to lasso the gator, with help from local police officers, and was moved safely into the back of a pick-up truck.

Authorities say the alligator will be released back into the wild into the Aransas River.
