LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - This afternoon, the last of Summer, cloudy with areas of drizzle and rain. A chance of thunderstorms and rain showers western areas late. Breezy with southerly winds of 15 to 25 gusting near 30 mph and a high near 80 degrees.

Tonight scattered thunderstorms and rain showers, with locally heavy rain. Cloudy with areas of fog possible, low in the upper 60s.

Thursday, the first day of Fall, scattered thunderstorms and rain showers, some possibly heavy early. Cloudy and breezy with southerly winds of 15 to 25 gusting near 35 mph. High in the upper 70s.

Friday a chance of rain under mostly cloudy skies. It may be a damp start to the 2010 Panhandle South Plains Fair. High in the low 80s.

Fall officially begins with the Autumnal Equinox at 10:09 CDT this evening. The Panhandle South Plains Fair begins Friday!
