The Red Raiders are hard at work

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - In the middle of their bye week, the Red Raiders are hard at work, improving for their first big 12 road test at Iowa State October 2nd at 6 p.m. This may be rush week for the team. No fraternity stuff, but a chance to work on the running game.

Against Texas, Tech rushed for 18 carries for minus 14 yards. Baron batch had 7 carries for 39 yards and he knows this team has to be able to run with the football.

"You know it's big," said Red Raiders Running Back Baron Batch. "All season we haven't run the ball well. I've taken that real personal you know we're going to get that fixed."

"With minus 14 yards rushing, you're not going to beat to many folks," said Texas Tech Head Coach Tommy Tuberville. "We hadn't got any better there. That starts with coaching. We're demanding more, we're working at it more. The running game will help the passing game. If we tried to throw the ball the other night we would have hardly got the ball off."
