Posted: Updated:

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - City Councilman Paul R. Beane will be hosting a meeting for merchants and residents who will soon be affected by the rebuilding of 82nd Street. The meeting will be at Waters Elementary School, located at 3006 78th Street, on Tuesday, September 28, at 6:30 p.m.

The rebuilding project along 82nd Street is between University and Flint Avenues. Construction will begin on Wednesday, September 29, and should be completed by the end of January 2011. Businesses along 82nd Street between University and Flint Avenues are being notified of the meeting and the construction project, but Councilman Beane invites everyone in the area to attend.

"Although the project is limited to 82nd Street between University and Flint Avenues," Councilman Beane says, "this project will impact everyone driving, shopping, or living in this area, so we are hopeful that merchants and residents alike will attend this meeting to discuss and learn about this project and its impact on our citizens."
