Winless Monterey is at home at Lowrey tonight

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Winless Monterey is at home at Lowrey tonight to take on Odessa Permian. What was once a district game for the past 2 years now is a non-district tune-up. Monterey has showed signs of improvement and Coach Todd Pearson hopes tomorrow it all comes together to equal a win.

"The momentum of our team has really been up and down," said Monterey Head Coach Todd Pearson. "I think the offense has proven to be a little more consistent than our defense, I think our defense has been. You know, we've had four games now and two of them have been really solid performances, but we put ourselves in position to win. When the defense plays well, we put ourselves in a position to win, and when they don't then we struggle. And that's been the tell of our season so far. With our defense improving each week, doing the things they need to do. Continuing to do those will give us a chance to be a complete football team, and that's what we're looking for."
