Some reports state that Leach may be going to New Mexico

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Rumors are swirling around college football circles that former Texas Tech Head Football Coach Mike Leach will soon take a new job in New Mexico.

Reports have stated that Leach would replace University of New Mexico Head Coach Mike Locksley after the October 9th game against New Mexico State. Leach's Lubbock based attorney Ted Liggett to NBC Sports that the rumors are not true.

Liggett said, "There is zero truth to these reports. There have been no discussions with anyone as far as I know, and I would know."

Leach was fired from Texas Tech last December amid claims of player mistreatment.
