Former Lubbock Police Officer to Receive Backpay

A fired Lubbock Police Officer, reinstated through arbitration, is now entitled to just over $25,000 in backpay. 41-year-old Nicholas Medina was accused of using excessive force,  making an illegal arrest and later falsifying the police report.

Medina was at first fired, but an arbitrator overturned the termination and instead placed him under suspension. Medina resigned in April, and has since moved to Pensacola, Florida.
