Baxley busted for sex offender charge, and DWI warrant

By James Clark | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - DPS officers and U.S. Marshals arrested a man who is both a sex offender and a wanted fugitive on the South Plains.  David Ross Baxley, 67, was wanted on three warrants Thursday in Vidor Texas, which is near Beaumont.  In Rockwall County he was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender.  In New Mexico he was wanted for failure to appear in court.  And back here on the South Plains, in Yoakum County he was wanted for driving while intoxicated.

Texas has listed him as a "top 10 most wanted" sex offender.  In 1983, Baxley was sentenced to 10 years in prison for indecency with a child by sexual contact and to 15 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child. The victim was a 12-year-old girl.
