LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – The annual Go Texan Restaurant Round Up is underway giving customers a chance to get out and go eat.
The Texas Department of Agriculture connects restaurants with local farmers and ranchers to serve locally produced and raised food. Over 400 restaurants around the state are bringing Texas to the table all week long.
Fuddruckers on Slide is a Texas based company that bakes their bread fresh every morning and only buys local meats and produce, putting money back into the Texas economy.
"The benefit we get is we are able to cast that cost savings down to the customer and keep our prices low, because we buy local and buy in the state of Texas and keeps our transportation costs down from our providers," said Fuddruckers co-owner, Mickey Rodgers.
Rodgers said they use fresh never frozen meat. This week they have a great deal offering people a Feed the Family of Four for $20 including drinks.
Everyday this week KCBD NewsChannel 11 will be featuring a participating restaurant.
