Names of the 13 Tulia Defendants

The following 13 people were among the 38 prosecuted in the controversial and racially charged Tulia drug busts in 1999. All but one of the 13 defendants were released on bond today pending a ruling by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. The 13th, Daniel Olivarez, has a hold on him from another county.

  • Dennis Michael Allen, 36, sentenced to 18 years
  • James Ray Barrow, 33, sentenced to 10 years
  • Freddie Brookins Jr., 26, sentenced to 20 years
  • Willie Hall, 40, sentenced to 18 years
  • Christopher Eugene Jackson, 31, sentenced to 20 years
  • Calvin Kent Klein, 23, sentenced to 10 years
  • Joe Welton Moore, 60, sentenced to 90 years
  • Daniel Olivarez, 22, sentenced to 12 years
  • Benny Lee Robinson, 26, sentenced to 10 years
  • Timothy Wayne Towery, 29, sentenced to 18 years
  • Kareem White, 27, sentenced to 60 years
  • Kizzie White, 26, sentenced to 25 years
  • Jason Jerome Williams, 24, sentenced to 45 years
