Lubbock Police Officer Is On Administrative Leave After Accused Assault

A Lubbock policeman is on administrative leave after he allegedly assaulted his neighbor.

53-year-old Marshall Paul is accused of grabbing 23-year-old Robert Gerald by the throat. Gerald told police the off duty officer accused him of trying to run over his cat as he was parking his truck in front of his home.

The incident happened around two in the morning on May 30th. Paul has been on Administrative Leave since May 31st. Police Chief, Claude Jones will determine whether to take disciplinary action against the 15 year veteran officer.
