BROWNFIELD, TX (KCBD) – Former Terry County Jail Correctional Officer Larry Labadie, 59, was arrested Thursday according to the Sheriff. Labadie resigned in June, according to Sheriff Larry Gilbreath. More recently a Terry County grand jury handed down two separate indictments with a total of three charges.
Gilbreath says Labadie faces charges of prohibited substance in a correctional facility, prohibited item in a correctional facility and improper sexual relationship with a person in custody. He was able to post bond of $3,000 and get back out of jail on Thursday.
Gilbreath says the prohibited substance consisted of cigarettes and the prohibited item was a cell phone. Gilbreath says the investigation of Labadie started when cigarettes were found inside a female holding cell. The Texas Rangers were called in as an outside agency to investigate.
