When Lubbock Christian University's Praise Choir took their summer tour abroad this year, they took a piece of Lubbock to the mayor of their host city, Coleraine, which is in Northern Ireland.
In turn, Mayor Olive Church of Coleraine returned the favor, by sending a gift back to Lubbock Mayor Marc McDougal. Tuesday morning, several of the students who made the trip presented Lubbock's mayor with the coat of arms of the Borough of Coleraine, Northern Ireland.
Among the items Lubbock sent to Ireland: a Buddy Holly Street sign, and a flag that flew over the Lubbock city hall.
