Clovis infants brought to Lubbock hospital, police investigating abuse

CLOVIS, NM (KCBD) - A six-month-old Clovis boy remained hospitalized in Lubbock Tuesday night, after police arrested his mother for child abuse. The child was airlifted to Lubbock last week where doctors performed brain surgery.

Authorities report the boy is stable, but a long-term prognosis is not known.  Meanwhile, the boys mother, Amanda Fain, remains jailed in Curry County on a $100,000 bond.

Clovis Police are also investigating a separate case of abuse that brought a one-month-old baby girl to Lubbock last week for treatment. She was out of the hospital and in foster care Tuesday night.

Police say the girl suffered a fractured skull and broken ribs. Investigators say charges are expected, but they are not releasing any further information at this time.
