New program at United Supermarkets/Market Street contributes to local Texas food banks

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A new program now in place at 47 United and Market Street locations throughout Texas could result in a donation of 200,000 pounds of food to local food banks serving the company's trade area.

Through the "Complete The Circle" program, the company will match guest purchases of its Full Circle line of products for the next year with a donation of an equal amount of food to area food banks. Although not all locations carry the Full Circle line of products, such as United's Amigos stores, United Supermarkets will donate up to 4,000 pounds of food from each participating location, totaling an estimated donation of 200,000 pounds of food toward the end of 2011.

Full Circle products are marked by "Complete The Circle" labels on shelves throughout the 47 participating store locations.
