TxDOT to close part of Regis Street

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is scheduled to close Regis Street, under I-27, to traffic beginning Tuesday.  The closure will allow crews make repairs to the southbound I-27 bridge deck and railing.

Motorists can expect Regis Street to remain closed for approximately three months and should expect delays.  Traffic will be detoured around the area via the I-27 frontage roads. Eastbound Regis Street traffic will be detoured south to the Yucca Lane overpass. Westbound traffic will be detoured north to Independence Drive.

Work will take place weather permitting and is part of a routine maintenance project being funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The project will make more than $6.2 million in repairs to various segments of the concrete pavement and bridge approaches along I-27.
