LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - At the Cotton Bowl, Texas Tech beat Baylor for the 15th straight time in the series but this one wasn't easy as the Red Raiders held on for a 45 to 38 win.
It marks Tommy Tuberville's first Big 12 win as the Red Raiders move to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in conference.
Tech racked up 631 yards of total offense including 457 passing yards from Taylor Potts, who was 42 of 59 in the air.
Tech also had 174 yards on the ground as the running game came to light.
After periods of flatness the past 2 weeks, the Red Raiders offense was clicking with 417 yards of offense in the first half. Taylor Potts threw for over 300 yards in the first half as Tech opened up a 35 to 28 halftime lead despite two special teams blunders that led to 14 Bear points.
Up next for the Red Raiders is a sold out family weekend game next Saturday at 2:30pm hosting #22 Oklahoma State who is 5-0.
