A rabies case in Lubbock County has the Health Department sending out a warning. Earlier this week, an East Lubbock County resident killed a skunk that tested posted for rabies. This is the first reported case in the area since May, 2001.
Pet owners are encouraged to keep their animals up to date on rabies immunizations. Residents are urged to be aware of wild animals and to report any that show an ill or odd behavior.
You can do that by calling animal control at (806) 775-2712.
