LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it's time for the annual Lynnetta Hibdon Breast Cancer Symposium. For the 6th year, Covenant is offering a panel of doctors to answer all your questions about breast cancer.
The focus is on Lynnetta because her story reminds us that you don't have to have a lump to have breast cancer.
Kristi Satterfield, an Oncology Nurse at Joe Arrington Cancer Center, explains, "Lynnetta actually had inflammatory breast cancer where she did not have a mass or a lump. It's presented to make women think it's a skin rash or infection because there was redness and a change in the actual skin on the breast. She was 30, and more and more we are seeing younger women come in who have breast cancer. So, it does not discriminate."
The Lynnetta Hibdon Breast Cancer Symposium is set for a week from Saturday at Covenant Lakeside from 10:30 to 1:00.
It includes lunch, and it's all free.
However, you need to make your reservation by Monday October 18th. Call (806) 725-8157 to reserve your spot.
